Relinquish the Anguish

Not so sure this one works so well without it’s tune. You decide…

Relinquish the Anguish

Living in the world of the probable.
Never exploring the possible.
Closing our minds to our dreams and desires.
Letting our fear extinguish our fire.

Could be more to our lives,
Than meets the eye.
‘Nother set of alternatives,
If we would but try.
Just have to open our wings,
And we can all fly.
Stretch out our fingertips,
To touch the sky.

We’re living the life of a pessimist.
Never consider, could have more than this.
Turning our backs on our hopes and dreams,
Accepting a reality that’s not quite what it seems.

Could be more to our lives,
Than meets the eye.
‘Nother set of alternatives,
If we would but try.
Just have to open our wings,
And we can all fly.
Stretch out our fingertips,
To touch the sky.

If we relinquish our anguish,
We can learn to distinguish,
Between the good and the garbage,
And our fears could be vanquished.

Give up crying,
And all start smiling,
Give up fearing,
And all start trusting,
Give up existing,
And all start living,
Give up pretending,
And all start loving.
