Looking at the horizon of my life,
My sun is rising in the distance, finally at last.
To illuminate a darkened, desolate place,
Giving form and letting shadows finally be cast.
Nearly on the eve of thirty years,
Looming down the tunnel – finally a light.
As yet a glimmer, none-the-less certainly there,
Summer morning passing from perpetual night.
May daylight, never leave so I can see,
The beauty that has been here all along,
But hidden by the dark for far too long.
May I walk forever in this golden sun.
4th/5th November 1998
Sun Rise in Seattle.
See the sunlight dazzling,
Feel the warmth upon my skin,
Can’t hide any longer,
From the happiness within.
Taste the raindrops on my tongue,
Purer than a highland spring,
Smell the cleansing of the shower,
And the glow of goodness from within.
